message-questionHow-To Setup

On this page, you'll find out how to set up Confessions using all 3 methods of doing so!

Method 1: /setup

You can use this command and its 3 options to set up Confessions in the most basic manner. You will be given 3 options to choose from, 2 are mandatory, and 1 is optional, but recommended dependant on one of the other options you pick.

Option 1: channel

channel: is your first option. This lets you pick any channel for your confessions to go to whenever a member of your server uses the bot to confess something. (This option is mandatory and must be picked)

Option 2: logging

logging: is your second option. This lets you decide if you want all confessions to be logged for staff to know who made what confession in a super convenient manner without using other manual means of finding out who made the confession. The choices are Yes or No. (This option is mandatory and must be picked)

Option 3: log-channel

log-channel: is your third and final option. This is the only non-mandatory option, but if your choice for the second option: Logging, was "Yes", we highly recommend using this option to pick a channel for your logs to go to, otherwise you may find that you won't see any logs when a confession is made.

Method 2: /quick setup

You can use this method if your server is still barebones, it can help alleviate some of the work of creating channels for you! This command only comes with one option to choose from.

Option 1: logging

You will pick if you want logging available when running this command, and based on your answer (Yes/No), Confessions will create 1-2 channels for you.

If Yes; Confessions will create 2 channels, one for confessions to go to, and one for the logs to go to. If No; Confessions will only create 1 channel, the confessions channel.

Method 3: Manual Labour

The third and final method to set up confessions is manually setting channels using any other commands that Confessions has for tweaking channel settings. (See /channels later in the docs.)
